Arts NewWest and Tourism NewWest Reveal Summer Plans
As summer approaches, New Westminster's businesses are gearing up for a boost in foot traffic thanks to the return of many tried and true summer events. Street festivals and free music events such as UpTown Live on July 27th and The 12th Street Festival on July 28th are not only a highlight for residents and visitors alike but also serve as invaluable opportunities for local businesses to thrive. With food trucks that showcase a wide variety of tastes and artist booths filled with local crafts, there will be something for everyone.
"It's going to be a very active summer, " stated Tourism NewWest's Executive Director Garardo Corro. "We have many organizations, including the city, private organizations and not-for-profits all trying to plan something for the summer. So we are going to have a lot of art happening around town. Lots of festivals."
Arts NewWest's plans include an Indigenous Market on The Quay on June 8th, plus the return of the NewWest Craft Market on the first and third Saturdays of June, July and August at River Market. These events have been popular with crowds of all ages and backgrounds in the past. In addition, they will be providing local businesses with increased visibility and a chance to showcase their products or services. For many small enterprises, summer events can make a significant difference in their bottom line, helping them to build customer loyalty and expand their reach.
