Celebrating Women’s Strength: The Faces of the Tri-Cities Book Launch

The upcoming launch of the Faces of the Tri-Cities book, set for March 2nd, coincides with International Women’s Day and the entire month dedicated to honoring women worldwide. This special event is not only a celebration of the incredible women in the Tri-Cities but also a statement of empowerment and unity.

Geneviève Lefebvre – Local Journalism Initiative

Co-curators Genevieve Kyle-Lefebvre and Cathy Cena, who set out to create something different, have brought together 50 diverse women from the Tri-Cities to share their powerful stories, showcasing the strength, resilience, and vision that make this community so unique.

Genevieve and Cathy’s vision for this project was to do more than just celebrate women—it was to amplify their voices and celebrate their contributions in a meaningful way. “We wanted to do something different this year, something that truly reflects the spirit of International Women’s Day and month,” says Genevieve.

Through the Faces of the Tri-Cities book, they’ve created a platform for local women to share their personal stories—stories that are rooted in strength, vision, and inspiration. In an interview with Becca Yu-Lewis, Cathy and Genevieve reflect on the importance of highlighting these diverse voices during a time when women’s experiences need to be celebrated and uplifted.

“Everyone has a story in them,” Genevieve says. “If you’re not in this year’s edition, don’t worry—there’s always next year. No one is left behind.” Cathy adds, “This book isn’t just about telling stories—it’s about creating a space where women can feel seen, heard, and celebrated for the impact they make in their communities.”

The book launch on March 2nd will not only serve as a celebration of these 50 women, but it will also stand as a reminder of the importance of diversity and inclusion. As Cathy and Genevieve continue to inspire others through their work, they hope to spark a larger movement of women empowering women in the Tri-Cities and beyond. The Faces of the Tri-Cities book launch is more than just an event—it’s an act of celebration, an embodiment of strength, and a powerful tribute to the women of the Tri-Cities during International Women’s Week.
