Empowering Iranian Immigrant Integration in BC

Family is important everywhere, but countries have different rules about it. In Iran, women need their husband's permission to travel, which is not the case in Canada. Immigrants need to understand and adapt to the laws of their new home, especially in family matters.

The Canadian Iranian Foundation is helping with this by organizing a seminar. President Nassreen Filsoof explains the foundation's goals to foster understanding and integration. Family counselor Azar Ziyamanesh then talks about family legal issues in British Columbia, focusing on challenges faced by Iranian immigrants. She discusses the impact of religious principles underlying family laws in Iran, that are different from those in Canada's secular legal system. Ziyamanesh explores the changing roles of parents after childbirth and differences in spousal rights between the two countries.

Lawyer Hussein Faramarzi continues the seminar, diving into family laws in British Columbia. He talks about ways people can live together within the legal rules, considering societal and cultural factors. Faramarzi explores separation and divorce, addressing legal complexities. He takes questions from the audience. The goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge needed to navigate family laws in British Columbia.

The seminar serves as a crucial platform for fostering understanding, facilitating integration, and empowering individuals within the multicultural tapestry of Canadian society.

خانواده در همه جای دنیا یک معنا دارد اما قوانین مدنی دررمورد خانواده در کشورهای مختلف متفاوت است. مثلا زنان در ایران بدون اجازه کتبی شوهر حق مسافرت ندارند و نمی توانند از کشور خارج شوند . بسیاری از قوانین خانواده بر اساس شریعت اجرا میشود چیزی که در کانادا معنا ندارد و مهاجران باید تابع قوانین مدنی اینجا باشند. بسیاری از مهاجران ایرانی که به استان بریتیش کلمبیا وارد میشوند، نیاز دارند تا با حقوق خانواده خود آشنا شوند.
بنیاد کانادا و ایران در سمیناری که برگزار کرده است به این مسئله میپردازد. نسرین فیلسوف ریسس بنیاد، توضیحاتی در رابطه با اهداف بنیاد می دهد. سپس آذر ضیامنش  که مشاور خانواده است در خصوص مسایل حقوقی  خانواده در استان بی سی توضیحاتی می دهد. او میگوید عدم آشنایی با قوانین باعث مشکلاتی میشود که مخصوصا زن و شوهر ها را دچار سردرگمی میکند. او تعریفی از خانواده می دهد و در مورد نقش جدید پدر و مادر پس از تولد فرزند توضیح می دهد.  او ادامه میدهد که در ایران زن و شوهر حقوق برابر ندارند ولی در کانادا حقوق یکسانی دارند و در برابر فرزندان خود مسئولیت های مشترکی دارند. او در خصوص طلاق و سرنوشت خانواده صحبت میکند.
در بخش دوم برنامه حسین فرامرزی وکیل دادگاهای بریتیش کلمبیا سمینار را ادامه می دهد. او در مورد قوانین خانواده در ایالت بریتیش کلمبیا توضیحاتی می دهد. او تاکیید میکند که برخی قوانین در همین استان ممکن است تفاوتهایی داشته باشد.  او در مورد زندگی مشترک به گونه های مختلف توضیح می دهد. او در مورد جدایی و طلاق و قوانین آن در استان توضیح می دهد و سپس به سوالات حضار پاسخ می دهد.
