Financial Awareness Session for Winnipeg's Muslim Women
In this episode of Civic Platform with journalist Zuher Almusre, Winnipeg's Muslim Women learn about family financial matters in Canada.
Jesse Reitberger, financial advisor with Canadian Islamic Wealth puts on a workshop covering many subjects including life insurance, wills, banking and other money matters, including financing in a halal way for Muslim newcomers.
While in some traditional families, women leave financial issues to their husband, Reitberger stressed the importance of women being aware of the various aspects of their families' financial picture. For example, he spoke to them about the importance of creating wills and knowing what her husband's will covers in case of the worst happening.
Reitberger opened a space for questions and discussion. Reitberger also provided a full explanation for Muslim women who may have religious challenges in financial matters in Canada. He introduced them to the programs they could benefit from and the ones they should avoid.
