Residences of Edelweiss started a Petition for their Lack of Internet Access

Residents of Edelweiss are petitioning for better Internet access to the Edelweiss area of La Pêche.  Bell Fibe has the infrastructure in place for parts of the southern side of Edelweiss, yet all homes on the north side of the highway are experiencing extremely slow Internet speeds. 

Two separate residents who moved to the Edelweiss area of La Pêche, were quoted for much higher speeds prior to purchase.  Knowing the importance of highspeed Internet, these residents did their research prior to buying, yet feel that they were misled. When Shayna Gersher and family moved there in 2019, she was told she would have and Internet speed of 5 Mbit/s.  After moving in, the average speed is 1.3 Mbit/s.  The highest speed that has yet been registered is 3 Mbit/s. 

Philip Warrick also moved to Edelweiss area of La Pêche in 2019.  Both he and his wife rely heavily on highspeed internet for their work and also feel mislead by the speeds they were quoted.  Prior to purchase, he was quoted for a service of 15 Mbit/s.  The average speed of 1.3 Mbit/s is far from the 15 Mbit/s that he was told he could receive.

These are just two residents there who are frustrated with the slow Internet speeds.  Shayna and Philip are speaking out to help themselves and their neighbours achieve a better service.  Only 1 km away, Bell has provided Bell Fibe to the southern side of Edelweiss.  With the infrastructure in place, it creates a lot of questions regarding why access cannot be provided to all Edelweiss residents.

Les résidents d'Edelweiss demandent un meilleur accès Internet dans le secteur Edelweiss de La Pêche. Bell Fibe a l'infrastructure en place pour certaines parties du côté sud d'Edelweiss, mais tous les foyers du côté nord de l'autoroute connaissent des vitesses Internet extrêmement lentes.
Deux résidents distincts qui ont déménagé dans le secteur Edelweiss de La Pêche, ont été cités pour des vitesses beaucoup plus élevées avant l'achat. Connaissant l'importance de l'Internet à haute vitesse, ces résidents ont fait des recherches avant d'acheter, tout en ayant le sentiment d'avoir été induits en erreur. Lorsque Shayna Gersher et sa famille y ont déménagé en 2019, on lui a dit qu'elle aurait une vitesse Internet de 5 Mbit / s. Après avoir emménagé, la vitesse moyenne est de 1,3 Mbit / s. La vitesse la plus élevée encore enregistrée est de 3 Mbit / s.

Lui et sa femme comptent énormément sur Internet à haut débit pour leur travail et se sentent également induits en erreur par les vitesses qui leur ont été citées. Le débit moyen de 1,3 Mbit / s est très loin des 15 Mbit / s dont on lui a avait laissé songer.
Ce ne sont là que deux résidents qui sont frustrés par la lenteur des vitesses Internet. Shayna et Philip s'expriment pour aider eux-mêmes et leurs voisins à obtenir un meilleur service. À seulement 1 km, Bell a fourni Bell Fibe au sud d'Edelweiss. Avec l'infrastructure en place, cela a créé beaucoup de questions sur les raisons pour lesquelles l'accès ne peut pas être fourni à toutes les résidents Edelweiss.
