St. Andrews, NB Allows for 5 Food Trucks at Indulge Food & Wine Festival 2024

The Town of St. Andrews held a Council meeting on February 20, 2024, where a multitude of critical topics were deliberated.

A key focal point of the meeting was the approval of water and wastewater rate changes, a decision with implications for residents and businesses in the town. Council engaged in thorough discussions regarding the proposed updates. Furthermore, deliberations centered on requests for funding to support a land development, emphasizing the necessity of infrastructure expansion to facilitate affordable housing projects and foster community growth.

In the realm of public safety and event planning, council made pivotal decisions regarding the upcoming Indulge Food and Wine Festival 2024. The festival has been organized by Tressa Bevington for over a decade and it has made St. Andrews a destination location in the October shoulder season. 

Determinations were made by council concerning the utilization of Market Square or King Street for Indulge Festival activities, road closures to accommodate festivities, and the installation of patio lighting along Water Street. Notably, council approved of a maximum of five food trucks to operate during the event.

"I'm just very excited at the fact that we're extending," said Councillor Annette Harland. "Tressa's providing an opportunity for us to extend this event with the added food trucks. I think that'll be a benefit for the town and look forward to seeing it happen.

Discussions extended to strategic investments in housing development and infrastructure projects, with councillors engaging in debates over fund allocation for various initiatives. Consideration was given to the long-term implications for residents and the town's development trajectory.

As the meeting concluded, plans were set in motion to further explore proposed developments and funding agreements.
