Supporting Winnipeg's Muslim Families at Eid Toy Drive

الجمعية الإسلامية في مانيتوبا وبالتعاون مع معهد المرأة المسلمة الكندية أقيمت 
فعالية التجهيز السنوي للألعاب واحتياجات العيد للعائلات ذات الدخل المنخفظ في مدينة وينيبيع وذلك ايماناً بأهمية التكافل الإجتماعي والحرص على إدخال الفرحة في قلوب جميع الأطفال بهذه المناسبة السعيدة
هذه الأنشطة أشرف عليها عدد من المتطوعين الشباب الذين وفروا جميع المتطلبات لتغليف الهدايا وكتابة البطاقات المميزة والملصقات الجذابة لتصل قيمتها المعنوية قبل المادية لأحبتنا الصغار 
خلال هذه الفعالية كانت هناك فرصة كبيرة للمشاركين في التعرف على بعضهم البعض وبناء علاقات وصداقات جديدة من شأنها توسعة دائرة المعارف لأبناء الجالية الإسلامية في مدينهم الجديدة وينيبيغ 
الصحفي زهير المصري من قناة يو ملتيكلتشرل استضاف سعدية قريشي متطوعة في الجمعية الإسلامية في مانيتوبا والتي قالت: كان لدينا تعاون مع معهد المراة المسلمة الكندية ونعمل معا للتبرع بالهدايا للعائلات المنتسبة اليهم . وهذا اقل شيئ يمكن ان نقدمه لهم في العيد لنجعله ممتعا وسعيدا للاطفال 
وأضافت أيضاً: كما يعلم الجميع إسعاد الاخرين شيئ مهم جداً في الدين الإسلامي حتى وإن كان قليلاً . شاهدنا العائلات مع طفالهم ذهبوا إلى التسوق واشتروا ألعب، ولكن ليس لهم، بل لأطفال اخرين . لم يتخيل الأطفال اليوم بأنه هنا في وينيبيغ يوجد أطفال لايستطيعون شراء ألعاب كالتي عندهم فكانوا يعتقدون بأن أصحاب الدخل المنخفض موجودين في مكان اخر من العالم وليس هنا. أنا أعتقد بأن هذا اليوم فرصة رائعة لتعليم الأطفال قيم الخير والعطاء ومساعدة الاخرين والشعور بهم وهم في سن صغيرة لتكبر هذه القيم معهم ويكونوا أطفال يحبون الخير في المستقبل

To provide low-income families in Winnipeg with the Eid Al-Fitr necessities, the Manitoba Islamic Association (MIA) and the Canadian Muslim Women's Institute (CMWI) established the annual Eid toy drive. The MIA and CMWI do this because they value social solidarity and are eager to spread joy to all children on this joyous occasion. 

These activities were overseen by several youth volunteers who provided all the materials for gift-wrapping, writing unique cards, and creating eye-catching posters so that our loved ones' moral values came first before their material ones. 

The opportunity to get to know one another and form new connections and partnerships that would broaden the circle of acquaintances of the members of the Islamic community in their new city, Winnipeg, was tremendous during this occasion. 

Saadia Qureshi, a volunteer at the Manitoba Islamic Association (MIA), was interviewed by journalist Zuhair Almusre from the U Multicultural channel. Saadia Qureshi stated that: "We cooperate with the Canadian Muslim Women's Institute, and we work together to donate gifts to families affiliated with them." The least we can do to make their Eid joyful and exciting for the kids is this, Qureshi explained. 

As everyone is aware, making other people happy—however small—is a very important aspect of Islam, according to Qureshi. We observed families with kids buying toys for other kids rather than for their own kids. Many children didn't think that there were kids in Winnipeg who couldn't afford toys like the ones they had: They believed that individuals with poor incomes lived elsewhere.This day, in my opinion, is a perfect opportunity to instill in young children the ideals of compassion, generosity, helping others, and empathy so that they can carry these virtues with them throughout life and raise children who respect goodness.
