УКанаді: Плюси та мінуси навчання в Канаді. Безкоштовне навчання?

Юлія Худіна ділиться тим, як проходить її шостий рік навчання у медичній школі в University of Manitoba.  

Юлія Кравчук ділиться своїм досвідом навчання на політології в University of Manitoba. Вона є міжнародною студенткою і зараз на третьому році навчання. 

Анастасія Бебих вже закінчила канадський коледж, після цього пропрацювала декілька років full-time і тепер знову повернулася до навчання в University of Winnipeg за спеціальністю фінансування та економіка. 

Для отримання стипендії або гранту на навчання дівчата радять подаватися на Manitoba Student Aid та Canada Student Aid. Юлія Кравчук подавалася на ці програми і декілька разів отримувала фінансову допомогу на навчання на декілька семестрів, що було вагомою сумою. Особливо враховуючи, що вартість для міжнародних студентів у три, а часто в чотири рази вища за навчання місцевих студентів. Зазвичай один курс для місцевих студентів коштує 500 CAD, тобто приблизно 5000 CAD за рік. 

Дівчата наголошують на важливості тайм-менеджменту та самодисципліни, що допомагає їм поєднувати навчання з роботою. Учасниці розвінчують міфи про шумні вечірки і стверджують, що такі вечірки залишаються лише у фільмах. 

На відміну від України, де перерва між школою та університетом є рідкістю, у Канаді суспільство заохочує використання цього часу для волонтерства або подорожей.  

Анастасія стверджує, що не всі повинні йти в університет чи коледж. І gap year дає студентам необхідний час визначитися зі спеціальністю і майбутньою професією. 

Студенти в Канаді, які беруть gap year, роблять свідомий вибір щодо майбутнього, спираючись на власні бажання та інтереси, на відміну від України, де частина студентів вступає до університету лише через тиск суспільства.

Yuliia Khudina reveals the truth about studying at the medical school at the University of Manitoba. This is her sixth year of studies. Yuliia Kravchuk shares her experience studying political science at the University of Manitoba. She is an international student and is currently in her third year. Anastasiia Bebykh has already graduated from a Canadian college, worked full-time for a few years, and has now returned to study finance and economics at the University of Winnipeg.

To obtain scholarships or educational grants, the girls recommend applying to Manitoba Student Aid and Canada Student Aid. Yuliia Kravchuk applied to these programs several times. She received financial aid for multiple semesters, which was a significant amount, especially considering that the cost for international students is three to four times higher than for local students. Usually, one course for local students costs 500 CAD, which amounts to approximately 5,000 CAD per year.

The girls emphasize the importance of time management and self-discipline, which helps them balance studying with work. They debunk myths about loud parties, asserting that such scenes only happen in movies.

Unlike in Ukraine, where taking a gap year between school and university is rare, Canadian society encourages using this time for volunteering or travelling. Anastasiia says not everyone needs to go to university or college, and a gap year gives students the time to decide on their major and future profession.

Students in Canada who take a gap year make a conscious choice about their future based on their desires and interests, unlike in Ukraine, where some students enroll in any university due to societal pressure.
