Winnipeg Civic Elections 2022 Don Woodstock
October 26th, Winnipeg heads to the polls to elect its next mayor. Eleven candidates will be on the ballot with a vision of how they will lead Winnipeg for the next five years. Eight candidates have accepted our invitation to convey their plans and promises.
Civic Platform host, Zuher Almusre, sits down with Don Woodstock to learn more about him as a candidate and his platform.
Security company owner Don Woodstock is running to be Winnipeg's next mayor. As a former bus driver for nine years, Don Wood Stock considers transit safety his utmost priority. One of his plans is called 'Operation Safe Ride.' As an environmentalist vehicle electrification is another priority for woodstock.
Woodstock says he wants to turn surpluses at the city's water and waste department into rebates for Winnipeggers.
Woodstock has promised to let members of the Winnipeg Police Service choose their next chief.
Woodstock says he would replace transit supervisors with plainclothes police officers.
Woodstock has also promised to focus on introducing electric buses with a goal of Winnipeg Transit having all electric buses in about 20 years.
Woodstock says he wants to stamp out corruption.
