Winnipeg's Arab and Muslim Communities React to the Syria and Turkey Earthquake
A natural disaster in every sense of the word occurred during the past few days. A devastating earthquake strikes entire cities in Turkey and Syria. Thousands of dead and wounded, concern and general grief spread worldwide from the ongoing situation. Many in Winnipeg have lost family members and are mourning their loss.
In this episode of Civic Platform, Mohamad Jumaily, Team Leader, Islamic Relief - Winnipeg, talked about the latest developments and information on this crisis. Jumaily spoke about the role of the Islamic and Arab communities in standing with this unfortunate news and that Islamic Relief has launched a donation campaign in cooperation with the Manitoba Islamic Association (MIA) to help the affected countries.
