Le 15 décembre, le premier ministre du Québec François Legault annonçait de nouvelles restrictions pour la période des Fêtes afin de freiner la propagation de la COVID-19.

Parmi ces directives, le changement de palier d'alerte des régions en zone orange, qui passent au rouge du 17 décembre au 10 janvier.

Depuis hier, la Gaspésie est donc en zone rouge.

La décision de changer de palier ne provient pas de la santé publique, mais du premier ministre et du gouvernement.

La ministre responsable de la Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Marie-Ève Proulx, nous explique la décision du gouvernement, qui envisage un décloisonnement de l'économie après la période des Fêtes, si la situation le permet.
