The Arabic language in Winnipeg faces many challenges, especially among children and youth. Between the lack of use and the ease with which the English language is widely spoken in schools and in daily life, the Arabic language is slowly declining and becomes heavy in use and understanding by the members of the Arab community.

The Arab community feels this danger and is taking tremendous measures through Arab and Islamic institutions to provide whatever lessons and programs they can to put the Arabic language on the right path and bring it back to homes in a simplified and likable way.

This episode of "Civic Platform" features Noura Hamwi, an Arabic language teacher with extensive experience in this field.

Hamwi immigrated to Winnipeg, like other families, and noticed the challenges related to the Arabic language facing the Arab community, so she gave us a lot of advice and facts that might help families protect their language.
