Immigrants and Employment Challenges in Winnipeg

Employment has always been the biggest challenge for immigrants. The first year of migration is the most difficult.

In this episode, we will stand on the most important challenges and the most successful proposed solutions from the experienced newcomers to Canada.

The guest of the first episode of “Civic Platform” is Grace Eidse, Executive Director of Altered Minds Inc. She had helped the immigrants and newcomers over many years, providing them with temporary jobs and experience that qualifies them for the labor market. Grace provided advice on how to find the first job in Canada and what are the key factors of first employment success.

In this episode, Eidse, and three immigrants discuss what is needed when arriving in Canada. They share their stories and challenges with us to benefit all immigrants.

These stories are real, and immigrants have gone through the same experience that every newcomer is going through today. The program focused on the importance of patience at the beginning of an immigrant's journey.

Because it is the beginning of the road to success. Next, accept any temporary job until you get to know the Canadian labor market and take experience from it. Also, volunteer with organizations that you are looking to work with in the future to learn about your capabilities and experiences. Volunteering is a small word, but it has a lot of meaning.
