In a pivotal meeting on November 16, 2023, The Regent Park Social Development Plan(SDP) Planning Committee diligently laid the groundwork for the highly anticipated Stakeholders Table Meeting scheduled for November 27 2023. The committee's discussions revolved around finalizing the schedule and agenda for the upcoming event, emphasizing the importance of effective organization for presentations by Funded Groups.
Six funded projects were confirmed during the meeting. Presenters for these projects received detailed instructions, and a template was provided to summarize their presentations. Information packages, including presenter names and select slides, will be distributed a week prior to the November 27 meeting.
The committee delved into an extensive task list for the event, covering crucial elements such as budgeting, promotions, outreach, hybrid assistance, registrations, and planning for future meetings. Task assignments were meticulously distributed among committee members to ensure a seamless execution of responsibilities.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the Shaping Culture initiative. The committee entertained a proposal to trial adopt certain Shaping Cultures documents, with an emphasis on active use and comprehensive training. Concerns were raised regarding clarity, expectations, and the documents optional nature. However, committee members stressed the importance of constructive feedback and the overarching goal of community progress. As discussions unfolded, the committee addressed concerns about the duration of the Shaping Culture presentation, highlighting the need to allow ample time for attendees to review associated documents.
With preparations in full swing, the SDP Planning Committee aims to deliver a Stakeholders Table Meeting that not only informs but actively contributes to the progress and benefit of the Regent Park Community.
