Mathew Falvai -- Adapting as a Musician During the Pandemic
La Peche is a community filled with talented musicians, artists and fortunately great venues for these musicians and music lovers. As we face the third wave of this pandemic, we would like you to hear about how some of these talented artists are adapting and pivoting their business models to keep them afloat and how we can help support.
Our story today is with Mathew Falvai on how he is still performing during these trying times. This on-going pandemic has really impacted everyone on so many levels and music plays such a vital role for wellness and bringing people comfort during these times.
Mathew has continued to create by performing live on Twitch Friday and Sunday evenings. He feels very fortunate to be able to continue his music throughout this time. He speaks about what he misses most from not being able to perform live. Mathew tells us how he is able to maintain an income with his music and gives advice to up and coming artists. There are things that he has learned and will continue to utilize in his business model moving out of the pandemic. Online performances have given him the opportunity to perform for folks in other countries without the logistics of a full-on tour.
Previously, the musicians here could play with other musicians for inspiration and play live here locally at the Blacksheep Inn and Kaffe 1870. A year later, these venues too are closed adapting their business models as well. For these musicians and music lovers, they can tune into Twitch and watch live shows in the comfort of their homes. Have a listen to Mathew Falvai on his upcoming performances and how we can support him.
