This week's Terrace Bay-Schreiber newspaper sees the return of the community calendar section. It had long been a mainstay of the paper for years but somehow slowly disappeared over the years. Community organizations are encouraged to submit their events for inclusion to the community calendar.

The Schreiber Public Library is looking to find volunteers who will want to participate in reading the newspaper. In the meantime, David Costa has become the face, or should we say the voice, of the weekly video release. From shy retiring library assistant to front page anchor of the show, David has taken on the role with enthusiasm. 

This collaboration is still in the early stages, but within the next few weeks a public launch will be highlighted in order to garner reaction to the concept. Schreiber Media Centre is very aware that there should be no undo effects to the already small subscriber base in the Terrace bay Schreiber area. Subscriptions and advertising are the lifeblood of any community newspaper and it is hoped that having a digital version to tie in with the online subscriptions might actually boost community involvement with the publication.

People who have seen the new show are generally impressed and there are plans to try and refine the format and decrease turnaround times in order to provide the content in a more timely fashion. Currently there are still delays between the release of the print version and the online version. This weeks issue was delayed due to a technical error which resulted in rescheduling the recording and then finding time to package and upload during what was already a busy week.

A regular slot of Thursday afternoon is the target for future shows but as with anything in the media business, we are at the whims of whatever is out there vying for attention.
