Information resources for newcomers settling in Manitoba
"Don't give me fish but teach me how to fish." This saying is in fact the crux of the topic of our episode for today. Newcomers to Canada need to know their own city and not just give them what they need.
The twentieth episode of "Civic Platform" features Andrew Micklefield, Member of The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.
Micklefield is originally an immigrant to Canada. He immigrated to Canada when he was young with his parents, and he knows very well the challenges of newcomers.
Micklefield tells us about the most important challenges for newcomers. Such as, housing, implement, and language. Also, he gave a detailed presentation on these challenges and where the immigrant should go to seek help. He also added about the arrival of Ukrainians in Winnipeg and how they can quickly stabilize and integrate into Canadian society.
In this episode, too, Micklefield added about the basics of raising children and how newcomers’ parents should follow the Canadian culture and its laws in raising children. So, the parents don’t get into any trouble with the Canadian state whose laws differ from the laws of their countries of origin.
There is more and more so watch our episode and we are waiting for your feedback in the comments.
