Employment, Language, and Mental Health Challenges Discussed by the Egyptian Community in Winnipeg

The Egyptian community in Winnipeg is growing daily. With this growth, the challenges facing them vary, for example, employment, housing, language and facing life in this new stage of the COVID-19 pandemic. This episode will present The Egyptian Canadian Society of Manitoba. This organization helps the Egyptian community and offers them various services to help them integrate and adjust to Winnipeg.  

Dr. Hala Salama, Member of The Egyptian Canadian society of Manitoba / Co-Coordinator of the Egyptian pavilion in Folkorama, Winnipeg, talks about the history of the Egyptian Canadian Society of Manitoba, its vision and mission of the organization to the community.  

Salama also touches on the various programs and activities to serve newcomers, including events that the organization holds periodically. 

Also in this interview is Dr. Omnya Khalifa, a Member of The Egyptian Canadian society of Manitoba and the other Co-Coordinator of the Egyptian pavilion in Folkorama.

Khalifa talked about their experience, their role in the program's success, and how they do their best to help the Egyptian community integrate as quickly as possible into Canadian society. Also, she gave them many vital pieces of advice and ideas for their new life.  

In conclusion, with the expansion and growth of societies in Winnipeg, challenges appear that need to be discussed to find out how we can make their lives better.
