Ukrainian Dance Ensemble preparing for the Show

Final rehearsals, preparation of costumes and coach's instructions.
Four days until the main premiere of the year by the Troyanda dance ensemble.

Since the first day of the war, the Ukrainian dance group has been showing its support for Ukraine and organizing charity fundraisers. A percentage of the sales of printed T-shirts and tickets for evening banquets was sent to Ukraine. This time the members of the ensemble are preparing a festive concert.

"To be honest, the idea of the concert was born because of the war in Ukraine. At the beginning of the year, we held a charity concert for Ukraine, which brought together many other dance groups. Troyanda as an ensemble decided to put on our show because we felt we had to express ourselves through dance and our culture. That is why we are organizing this concert in honor of Ukraine, - says the leader of the Troyanda ensemble Paul Doronyuk and adds, - Triptych is the concept of performing three separate parts of the choreography, which are connected together.

Triptych takes us into a world of joy, freedom and pride woven together through symbolism, customs and traditions.

They do not reveal all the secrets to us, but they do not hide the fact that talented newly arrived Ukrainians were encouraged to participate in the concert program. In order not only to show their support to those who had to flee from the war, but also to give them the opportunity to demonstrate their talents.

"We have a few surprises for the show. It's not just dances, we also welcome new arrivals from Ukraine. They will read poems, play musical instruments. So it will be part of the program," the head of the ensemble assures.

According to him, the last rehearsals are particularly intense, so everyone is giving their best. The participants do not hide their excitement, but they look forward to the day when the Ukrainian-Canadian community will come together again: "There are a lot of emotions, because after COVID-19, this is our first big project. One feels admiration, nervousness, happiness, and excitement. But in general, everyone is really looking forward to this day. I think this is a big goal to work towards after COVID-19. I think, taking into account everything that is happening in Ukraine now, everyone who participates in the concert put their best efforts into this project."

The audience will be able to see the show with on November 5 at 7pm in the evening and November 6 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased on the official website troyanda.com
