With the progress of the world and its development, we still see racist practices in many cities—those subjected to racism can suffer from poor health and psychological conditions.  

Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba and Winnipeg organize a Mental Health Toolkit for black Canadians to discuss their challenges and find solutions to live in peace in a country that guarantees its citizens freedom and complete justice.  

This episode of "Civic Platform" features Tracy-Ann Campbell, Team Lead, Rehabilitation and Recovery Services at Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba and Winnipeg. Campbell spoke about the importance of this Toolkit, its history, and the reason for its establishment. 

Campbell also explained the challenges facing black Canadians in Winnipeg, especially newcomers, as they still suffer psychological challenges that make them afraid to ask for help. That fear leads to anxiety that prevents them from achieving their goals and living in stability and peace. Campbell talked about families and how they appropriately deal with their children in line with Canadian culture and local laws, which may be completely different from their life in the past.  

In this episode, we also hosted some employees of the Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba and Winnipeg. They expressed their role in helping clients with psychological challenges and assisting them through multiple programs for coping and success in Winnipeg.
