Second Schreiber Council Meeting for April
A very brief council meeting was held in Schreiber in order to accommodate attendance at this years NOMA event. The opening acknowledgement has been amended in consideration of Metis people.
- Unfinished business featured the purchase of the new flow meter and was approved.
- The purchase of the chairs for the recreation centre was accepted and approved.
- Fire department equipment purchase was also approved.
- Waste water treatment plant report was accepted.
No bills or accounts were discussed during this meeting.
There were no attendees at this meeting.
The date of the meeting had been changed in order for the councillors and mayor to attend the NOMA conference which would have coincided with normally scheduled council meeting.
Other Business:
- Bylaw to clarify process, code of conduct and contributions to election funding was discussed and carried.
- Resolution to enforce property standards bylaw was carried but there was no debate.
- Property standards committee to be established, will use existing council and committee of adjustment to enforce and promote the bylaw.
- Recommendation for council to purchase accents for high school graduates.
- A concert will be held during the drag fest weekend on the end of July and will be organized by the recreation department. The drag fest follows the heritage day events.
Bylaw enforcement report:
- Vehicles will now be allowed to park on the street again as winter starts to recede.
- A challenge to the property standards bylaw has been ongoing for awhile but is not discussed during the open meetings.
The meeting then wrapped up and was adjourned.

Schreiber Community Media est une organisation à but non lucratif créée dans le but de fournir des services de production médiatique et de formation aux habitants de Schreiber et des environs. Schreiber est situé sur la rive nord du lac Supérieur, à environ deux heures à l'est de Thunder Bay.
Le centre multimédia Schreiber se trouve dans la bibliothèque publique de Schreiber et comprend des outils pour l'enregistrement, la diffusion en direct et la post-production audio et vidéo.
