Build Ontario Line Differently (BOLD) Coalition is a city wide association of Residents’ Associations and Civic Groups who are concerned about the impact that the Ontario Line, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario will have on the communities and neighbourhoods close to the new subway line.

Build Ontario Line Differently (BOLD) supports new public transit, but to be done responsibly, transparently, and collaboratively.

Recently in Moss Park, Metrolinx cut down 61 mature trees to make way for a new station for the Ontario Line. Moss Park residents are advocating to prevent more communities from meeting the same fate. Even with the trees gone, residents hope to preserve the little nature and green spaces they have left.

At their General Meeting, Liz Driver, The Co-Chair of Build Ontario Line Differently (BOLD) Coalition and the Director/Curator of the the Campbell House Museum, spoke about the goals of the BOLD Coalition which are:

• Build broad awareness about the scope of the Ontario Line, its construction plans and many impacts.
• During construction, the health and safety of the communities is key.
• Protect green spaces, trees and heritage sites from construction impacts
• Build awareness at both Queens Park and City Hall that transit is 'city building' which requires authentic, honest consultation.
• Support R.A.'s and elected representatives in requiring Metrolinx to be accountable and transparent as it 'builds back better'

BOLD invited member of parliament (MP) Julie Dabrusin to speak about federal expectations and commitments for community benefits across the proposed Ontario line.
