In a dynamic session held on October 26, 2023, the Planning Committee for the SDP Stakeholders Table convened to discuss and shape the strategic direction of community initiatives. The committee, dedicated to recommending strategic priorities, ensuring effective meetings, and promoting stakeholder engagement, covered a wide array of topics crucial for the community's growth and inclusivity.

Adonis Huggins presented proposals for tech barrier reduction in the Regent Park Community, and capacity building, with a particular focus on the Bridge Builder Project. Walied Khogali Ali's motion to garner support for business cases, including trustee Denise's involvement, was met with unanimous approval.

In a collaborative effort, the committee explored the incorporation of 'market' residents into the Bridge Builder Project. This initiative aims to address marginalized populations, emphasizing language and youth engagement, showcasing a commitment to community inclusivity.

The committee delved into the presentation format for the upcoming Stakeholders Table meeting, urging presenters to submit materials by November 20. The task list for the meeting on November 27 received meticulous attention, with due dates added for clarity.

The format of future Planning Committee meetings was also scrutinized, exploring the pros and cons of virtual, in-person, and hybrid gatherings.

In an exciting development, Walied proposed a capacity-building course in collaboration with the School of Cities, aiming to enhance community members' skills and knowledge. The meeting also included standing agenda items on evaluations, with participants encouraged to provide feedback through the SDP Survey. Throughout the meeting, a commitment to inclusivity and social cohesion was evident. Initiatives such as the incorporation of 'market' residents, addressing facilitation concerns outside formal meetings, and brainstorming a dedicated space for social cohesion underscored the community's dedication to fostering a sense of belonging.

With an eye on the future, the committee assigned tasks for the November 27 meeting, ranging from catering responsibilities to finalizing engagement efforts. The commitment to addressing facilitation concerns and creating an inclusive space remained a central theme.
