Farshid Parang: Bridging Cultures Through Art in Vancouver

Farshid Parang is a renowned artist in the fields of fashion and set design. He has been living in Vancouver for several years and has garnered a significant fan base. In this interview, Farshid discusses the challenges faced by an Iranian artist in creating and presenting his work.

Farshid comes from a community that has overcome many difficulties and now lives in Canada with the hope of realizing his dreams. However, Farshid still does not feel entirely comfortable and settled in Vancouver. He expresses concerns about the economic challenges and limited opportunities for work and activity in Vancouver, and he has higher expectations from government institutions. He believes that artists should hold a more respected position in society and not struggle merely for a piece of bread to survive.

Farshid believes that this country has greater potential to unite different communities and civilizations through art. He says that art encourages life and hope in contrast to politicians who often devalue life and that artists are the executors of this vision.

Farshid is determined to collaborate with Skyrise Media Society soon to host a television program and work towards achieving his dreams. Farshid has plans to leverage his extensive experience in both fashion and set design to bring a unique perspective to the program, showcasing the transformative power of art. This collaboration is seen as a significant step towards not only advancing his career but also contributing to the cultural enrichment of Vancouver's diverse artistic community. His commitment to bridging gaps between communities through art remains steadfast, and he continues to advocate for greater recognition and support for artists from all backgrounds.
