Vancouver International Music Business Conference is Coming to the Tri-Cities , October 3 - 6th.
Susie McGregor, founder of the Vancouver International Music Business Conference (VIMBC) is in studio with host Cathy Cena to talk about the upcoming event which runs from October 3 - 6th in Port Moody and Coquitlam and started out last year as the Vancouver Island Music Business Conference. So this year Susie has moved the festival to the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam and the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody but was able to retain the "I" in VIMF by going international.
The upcoming Conference not only offers an opportunity for the audience to hear the works of lesser known musicians from around the world, it also offers the musicians an opportunity to have their music heard and to get professional feedback on their work. Artists are already booked from the US, Mexico, and from as far away as South Africa.
As well as performing for an audience there will be opportunities for the artists to take part in numerous workshops pertaining to various aspects of the business of the music industry. How to put together a band,
VIMBC is a unique event that brings together artists, industry professionals, and music lovers from all over the world. Unlike other music conferences, VIMBC is not focused on attracting a large number of artists. Instead, VIMBC focuses on building and strengthening relationships between artists and industry professionals. This allows artists to get the guidance and support they need to succeed in the music industry, and it allows industry professionals to discover new talent.
