A group of newly arrived Iranian women in North Vancouver, who were struggling to find jobs, formed a group called "Darchin." This group engages in the production of homemade food and has achieved some success over the past few months.

Majid Moshiri, our volunteer interviewer, asked them about the secret to their success and prompted them to discuss the challenges they faced upon their arrival in the city. They mentioned that as recent immigrants to Vancouver, they were expected to have Canadian experience, which can only be gained by living and working in the area. Another point they highlighted was entrepreneurship; without any government backing, they created a job that prioritizes the preparation of healthy, homemade food.

They care about the future of their children and desire a healthy community. The Darchin group believes that their new business enhances the community's health, which in turn reduces the workload of the city's medical staff.

The entrepreneurial spirit of the Darchin group in Vancouver has made them a happy and strong team. They are not only no longer searching for jobs but may also hire new people in the near future.
