Paul Lambert, representing the Conservative Party, sits down with us to share his vision for the Tri-Cities and why he believes he’s the right choice in the upcoming federal election.

A lifelong resident, Lambert has lived in the riding for over 40 years. He’s witnessed Port Moody’s transformation from a quiet bedroom community to a growing urban hub. Now, he says, it’s time for real change. “The future is about balance and quality of life — reduce population growth and build housing and density where it makes sense,” Lambert explains.

Lambert is especially focused on improving transportation and infrastructure. While he acknowledges past improvements to local transit, he points out a troubling trend: “There was an increase in bus service, but lately there’s been a reduction. We need the highest quality of bus transportation,” he says. He also notes the growing traffic congestion on key routes like St. Johns Street, and suggests innovative solutions such as three-lane traffic flow during rush hour.

In addition, Lambert supports building a new overpass connecting Murray and Clarke, and expanding the Ioco bridge to include an additional lane.

On the economic front, Lambert is championing a “Blue Seal” program, which would allow skilled immigrants to challenge the trades certification exam and begin working. “Tens of thousands of people have come to Canada who can’t work in their field, this must change,” he says.

He promises “real change on housing, the cost of living, and the economy” — all rooted in his commitment to quality of life, local solutions, and meaningful progress.
