Tri-Cities Federal Election 2025 Candidate: Libertarian candidate Lewis Dahlby

Lewis Dahlby has lived in Port Coquitlam for the past 24 years and says he is passionate about promoting liberty and has run many times for the Libertarians, federally and provincially.

Geoff Scott – Local Journalism Initiative

Dahlby points to Canada's debt as the primary reason to vote for the Libertarian Party. He feels Canada is at a point of crisis and points to Argentina as another country in economic crisis that recently voted in a Libertarian candidate to help lead their country out of economic ruin.

Being somewhat of a realist, Dahlby sees the election as a two horse race between the Liberals and Conservatives and says he is only running to draw attention to the fact that something must be done to address Canada's national debt.

Whether locally or nationally Dahlby feels the answer to Canadas financial woes is less government; less government at a federal level, less government at a provincial level, and less government at a civic level.

While Dahlby acknowledges the need for government he feels that there is much that could be streamlined. With less centralized government he feels most provinces would keep more of their own wealth and manage their own finances accordingly. Dahlby feels that the western provinces would have the most to gain from this shift in governmental funding.

To help address the issue with the ever growing homeless population Dahlby says that he and his party would advocate for the closure of the CBC and use the savings to invest in shipping container style housing across Canada.

Dahlby also feels that climate change is over blown and that it's a "big scam and not an issue at all".
