Here's what Montréal media DOESN'T want you to know - Metropolis

Welcome to Metropolis, the biweekly show that delves into the dynamic world of Montreal’s politics. For this episode we give space to hear from fellow journalists Aude Simon, Adrien Siegel and Savanna Craig on our segment Hello Good Byline, where we see what our reporters have been covering and their thoughts on pressing issues that did not make it into their reporting.

Aude joins Metropolis host Kalden Dhatsenpa to discuss the Million March for Families protests. Both Kalden and Aude attended two different protests - the 1 Million March 4 Children protest and a counter-protest organized by trans activists, one held in September and one held in October. Each time the Million marchers organize a protest, trans-rights protestors have been there to counter protest.

1 Million March for Children gathered across the country to denounce the teaching of gender identity, pronouns and gender ideology in curriculums and use of mixed bathrooms in schools. The movement is said to be a unification of diverse backgrounds and faiths to safeguard the wellbeing of children, calling out families to protest in the streets and to take their children out of school for the day to participate in the protest.

At both of these marches, protesters on the trans activist side were heard saying, "fascists go home". Adrien and Aude break down this chant and why it may be problematic.
