Schreiber Public Library Annual Harvest Fair

Every year in the town of Schreiber Ontario, the community eagerly anticipates the highlight of the season, The Schreiber Public Library Annual Harvest Fair. This cherished event is a beloved tradition, bringing together locals, venders and visitors alike to celebrate the bounty of the harvest season. This year, the Schreiber Library held the event at the Schreiber Municipality Gym.

The Harvest Fair held many different types of activities for all ages. The Schreiber Public Library’s Annual Garden Contest was held there, where people bring in their pumpkins, squash, and unusual vegetables to be judged. There were also plenty of children's activities such as popping balloons with darts, throwing beanie bags into holes, a drawing and colouring contest, and even a Piñata at the end for kids to whack and receive tons of candy from! By playing these games children were given game tickets that they could exchange for prizes, such as toys or food items.

Local venders offered a wide variety of products including, natural medicinal products made from local plants, to homemade burritos, to home-baked dog treats, and more. The Schreiber Public Library even set up a table with free books for people to help themselves too.

The Harvest Fair was a huge success. The turnout was great, with almost the entirety of Schreiber showed up. Many people from towns such as Terrace Bay and Rossport also came to take a gander as to what was going on.

The Schreiber Public Library hopes to bring the Harvest Fair back each and every year because of how successful they are!
