New Brunswick Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Development Mike Holland held a town hall event in Milltown, New Brunswick on February 29, 2020. Holland was introduced to the audience by Progressive Conservative nominee Kathy Bockus for the St. Croix riding. Holland began the event by speaking to dozens of locals from the St. Croix riding about his background and values.

"I was elected in 2018, and was put in the position of Minister of Natural Resources at that time," said Holland. "I'm very thankful for that, but I believe that was probably the sum total of the last 20 years of efforts of my life. I believe very strongly in biodiversity, ecological sustainability and the future of our outdoor lifestyle being perpetuated by the things we are doing right now.

"I grew in the Miramichi area, and I live in Albert County right now. I come very naturally to a rural way of life. There are things that I'm doing in the Department of Natural Resources right now that I hope are a reflection of who I was growing up."

Holland the responded to audience questions on everything from the upcoming turkey hunt and new studies being on the use of glyphosate in the New Brunswick forestry industry to the future of the historic Milltown dam. Holland insisted that the Milltown dam's fate will not be decided without proper consultation from the community. The dates of public consultations regarding the dam have still yet to be decided.
