Painted Chair Auction Raises Money for Wakefield Community Emergency Fund

La Peche Media speaks with Andree Grand-Maitre from the Wakefield Community Emergency Relief Fund about all the important work they’ve been doing since 2009 and the community needs throughout Covid 19.  Andree speaks about how they’ve been able to sustain themselves and the financial support they are able to give each year to the people/families in need.   The sustainability of the program is from the extremely giving community and fundraisers such as the Painted Chair Auction.

The organizer of the Painted Chair and Table Auction, Ellie Wilkinson talks about how the community can get involved in bidding in order to raise funds for this needed program.  After a very successful fundraiser in the past, she has decided to do another auction with all proceeds going to the Wakefield Community Emergency Fund.  Ellie realizes that the pandemic has been an extremely difficult time for some of the residents and she thought this was an ideal way to give while giving some folks a focus.  The Painted Chair and Table Project is created with recycled furniture painted by hobby artists and professional artists.  There are over 40 entries that will be auctioned off starting May 17th  and ending May 27th.

Andree Grand-Maitre from the Wakefield Community Emergency Fund feels gratitude for such fundraisers as this.  This is how WCEF is able to maintain sustainable with the ability to give relief to local families facing emergencies.  The mission of WCEF is to ease the burden of those in need by mobilizing the power of giving in the local community.  Without such fundraisers as this, the Fund would not exist.
