Vote and Make Your Own Decision

When the time comes for elections, many voters hesitate to participate for many reasons. These reasons differ, some of them are personal, and some are not clear yet. So, why this reluctance to make a decision that serves our interests and the interests of our community?

The thirteenth episode of "Civic Platform" features Janice Lukes, Councillor, Waverley West, Winnipeg. Lukes speaks about the historical story of the elections and the importance of voting in building a strong society.

Lukes also talked about voting challenges and why many of us hesitate to give our votes. Lukes advised the voters to know the candidates beforehand, vote for those they feel deserve, and help us achieve what our community and we want.

One of the questions answered by this episode of "Civic Platform" is how the results achieved in the elections will be satisfying for everyone? In fact, some people who did not participate in the elections may not like the results. Lukes clarified these facts with some real examples in other countries.

Zuher Almusre spoke with Madhur Sharma, a Winnipeg resident. Sharma shared his emotional story experience and how he felt when he voted for the first time in the federal elections. Sharma also stressed that participation in the elections is crucial for immigrants. They can bring the Canadian government's attention to their demands and desires to make them more stable in their new country.
