Winnipeg International Students Looking for Solutions to Daily Challenges

Winnipeg Universities have many international students looking for degrees that create a better future for them and prepare them for the labour market. However, international students face many challenges that hinder them from achieving their goals.

International students finds the difficult to adapt in the first months to get to know Winnipeg city, and its services. Which makes them suffer from a lot of psychological pressures. So, these difficulties require help from specialized centers that help them adapt and overcome their challenges.

This "Civic Platform" episode features Fanny Levy, Director, International Centre at the University of Manitoba. Levy tells us about the importance of the International Centre for international students and the services and programs it provides to them throughout the year. Levy explained the challenges faced by international students during the first periods, such as housing, transportation, health insurance, etc. It requires patience and determination until the student reaches stability and integration in the city. these students also experience complicated psychological states being away from their families during this period. The university is keen to hold various events that enable them to find new friendships and relationships that improve their psychological state.

Many international graduates desire to stay and work in Canada, necessitating amending residency papers. This process ensures the transition from student permanent to permanent residence legally.
