A Month of Heart Health Awareness in Winnipeg Through “Smart for Your Heart”
The heart is one of the human body's sensitive organs, and its continuous beats are a continuation of the wheel of life. Countries are keen to provide all instructions and spread awareness among members of society to prevent heart disease so the population can remain healthy and away from any risks.
February is the month of the heart in Canada. So, organizations join forces to provide free lectures and consultations to members of society, especially to the elderly and women. "Smart for Your Heart," an event organized by Health and Fitness in Winnipeg, provides various free programs to community members to raise awareness of heart disease and how to prevent it.
In this episode of Civic Platform, Rhea Vaags-Olafson, Director of Health and Fitness, explores the importance of services provided to members of the community and the need to attend lectures and workshops to be able to form new healthy habits that strengthen the heart muscles and make our bodies more vital and active. Olafson added that all community members are welcome, especially newcomers to Winnipeg who are in dire need of knowing what the city has to offer in terms of heart health. These lectures will be helpful, and they will hear them for the first time, and thus they will enjoy a happy and healthy life in their new city.
